Privacy Policy
Passport Photo Check is operated by Wano Labs LLC. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We've kept it short on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us.
What stays on your device
When you upload a photo, all editing happens in your browser. The background removal, cropping, country-spec adjustments, and preview run on your computer or phone. Your original photo is never uploaded to our servers. You can verify this in your browser's network inspector.
Anonymous quality measurements
To calibrate our automatic checks (sharpness, head pose, expression, lighting), we collect anonymous numeric measurements about each photo — for example "head tilt 4.3°" or "sharpness score 142." These numbers are tagged with a random per-tab session ID, your country selection, and a coarse browser bucket (e.g. "safari-ios"). They are not tied to your email, order, IP address, or the photo itself, and contain no image data.
What we collect (only if you pay)
- Your final, edited passport photo. Stored temporarily so we can email you the download link.
- Your email address. Used to send the receipt and download link.
- Order metadata. Country preset, timestamps, payment status — no image content.
- Your IP address. Briefly logged at the network edge for fraud and abuse prevention.
Why we collect it
To deliver the product you paid for and to meet payment and tax obligations. Under GDPR, our lawful basis is "performance of a contract" (Article 6(1)(b)).
Who we share it with
We use a small set of trusted service providers to operate the service:
- A cloud hosting and storage provider for the app and your final photo
- A payment processor to take payments and send receipts (your card details go directly to them — we never see them)
- An email delivery service to send your download link
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't share it with anyone outside of these operational providers.
How long we keep it

Cookies and tracking
We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, behavioral analytics, or session-replay tools. We use only the cookies required to operate the site (for example, your payment session). No consent banner is needed because we don't track you across the web.
Your rights
If you're in the EU, UK, California, or anywhere with similar laws, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Delete your data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Object to processing
- Receive a copy in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise any of these, email privacy@passportphotocheck.com from the address you used for your order. We'll respond within 7 days. There's no fee.
Children
The service isn't designed for users under 16. If you believe we've collected data from a child, contact us and we'll delete it.
Where your data is processed
We use cloud infrastructure with data centers worldwide. Your data may be processed in the United States, the European Union, or another region, depending on where you connect from. Where required by law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses with our providers for international transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page. We'll announce material changes on the site and keep older versions available on request.
